Meet Zack Davidson
Zack spent his childhood riding horses around the Norfolk countryside with his Grandfather, Michael Causton, and was a member of the North Norfolk pony club. In the early stages of his professional career, he worked in racing for Richard Phillips, focusing on backing racehorses and training young horses over fences. During his time with Phillips, Zack participated in two under rules races, including one at the Ayr Scottish Grand National meeting. In his early-twenties, Zack worked for Kim Bailey Racing, where he was a valued work rider and mainly responsible for producing store horses. In his mid-twenties, he joined Lambourn Racehorse Transport, where he regularly handled young stock, transporting them to and from sales and studs across Europe. Unable to stay away from riding, Zack later worked for Max Comley Racing, dealing daily with breakers and problem horses. Zack has always been highly competitive with his own horses, achieving notable success in team chasing with the 'FoxGrant.com Open Teamchasing' team, boasting multiple wins in open classes. He has also excelled in Hunt-racing, securing multiple wins and earning two consecutive GB Hunt Ride ROR League titles in 2021-2022 on Remarkable Man and in 2022-2023 on Crievehill. His trophy cabinet is overflowing with his numerous wins!
Meet Nia Kerslake
Nia began riding horses at the age of three and discovered a passion for hunting as she grew up, participating with the Atherstone Hunt and Fernie Hunt on her cherished pony, Brooke. She started her professional career early with work experience at the Atherstone Hunt kennels and Caroline Bailey Racing, eventually working full-time for Caroline Bailey. In her late teens, Nia joined Fergal O’Brien Racing, where she rode in two under rules races, including one on Tequila Blaze at Southwell. Missing hunting, she later worked at a private hunt yard in the Beaufort Hunt countryside, managing the hunters' fitness, introducing young horses to hunting, and caring for homebreds, which she also backed. Nia’s passion for working with breakers and young horses led her to Max Comley Racing, where she joined Zack in backing horses and training problem horses. Competitively, Nia has engaged in racing, hunt racing, team chasing, eventing, and show jumping. Her most notable achievement has been winning the GB Hunt Ride ROR League 2022-2023 on her horse Blue Monday. Nia's extensive experience with problem horses stems from being given challenged horses with a last chance at life, successfully restarting them and finding suitable roles for each horse. Currently, Nia is also pursuing a degree in Equine Physiotherapy, aiming to graduate in 2027.
